Mark Joris is a tax expert at PIA Group. Drawing on his extensive tax expertise, he advises entrepreneurs and business owners on a wide range of tax matters and closely follows new legislation and developments in taxation.

In his work, Mark makes complex tax regulations understandable and applicable for entrepreneurs. He pays particular attention to tax optimisation and the impact of tax choices on both the entrepreneur and their company. His areas of expertise include corporate taxation, directors’ remuneration, liquidation reserves and wealth taxation.

Securities tax tightened: new anti-abuse rules and reporting obligation

The securities tax has been a fixture in Belgian taxation for several years. The rate remains 0.15% and the threshold €1 million, but since the Programme Act of 18 July 2025 stricter rules apply. New anti-abuse provisions and a mandatory reporting of certain transactions are intended to counter avoidance and tighten supervision. Our experts are happy to go into more detail.
